England captain Heather Knight sign up with NHS to fight against Covid-19 pandemic

England’s women’s cricket team stars Heather Knight and Sophia Dunkley have joined the country’s National Health Service (NHS) to help the government fight the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Knight, who is the current England captain, and Dunkley join the NHS, England’s public healthcare system, which has been stretched for resources and manpower due to the growing number of patients.
"I signed up to the NHS's volunteer scheme as I have a lot of free time on my hands and I want to help as much as I can," Knight said.
"My brother and his partner are doctors, and I have a few friends who work in the NHS, so I know how hard they are working and how difficult it is for everyone," Knight wrote in her column for BBC.
The International Cricket Council lauded Knight for her “class”, adding that the English skipper was “showing the way on and off the field!”
